Dunno what the fuck happened, but I guess somebody fucking fucked up my 'everything' folder somehow, I let people log on as admins, never worried about it before, but SOMETHING WENT WRONG. This is seriously a nightmare, I can't upload half my pictures, can't access MY FILES. I've tried a bunch of stuff, taking ownership etc, but even if I take ownership, it only fixes about half the files (should fix all). There are 9,943 files, in 220 folders... so you can see that this is kind of an important folder. Does anybody have any experience with this? Did you start deleting user accounts or creating them?

One of my boys I'm guessing.
I reverted ownership to all users on all files, but only some files do all users have full control. I can see no way to apply full control to all files, subfolders etc all at once. It has to be done one fucking file at time. I've fucked with every aspect of windows EXCEPT this shit, just never ever had to mess with this before, UAC on some stuff etc, but this shit is just stupid confusing.

I've owned a few, but I always end up with 1TB full of SHIT, so I stopped using them and just started organizing/cleaning up more often.

I don't get to fuck around with Vista often, but I'm fairly sure this is the command you want to change access control in bulk.
A better rundown of the command on the MS site here
F for permissions gives full control
/T propagates changes through files and subdirectories
Maybe the /grant option is closer to what you want to do?

Yah, I guess I'll figure it out eventually. Its like they made it as CONFUSING as fucking humanly possible, which I'm used to from Microsoft, but this especially frustrating because I've never dealt with it before, Vista implemented all sorts of nifty new confusing things with UAC, permissions etc. I hope they worked this shit out in 7, because the way it is in Vista I'd consider it unfuckingacceptable if I were in charge, its like a puzzle, seriously its not that hard to make things a little more clear. There is no fucking way they tested this shit with regular users before shipping it out.

It looks like icacls C:\STUFF /grant Ks:F /T should accomplish what you need.
But, yeah... Some of the functionality of this is confusing. I have no clue what the fuck they were thinking with the permissions and access system.
