i have 2 knives and I'm pretty confident that at least one will be in very good condition at all times because of this

I also have two knives, have for a while. One for everyday use, and one for special occasions.

Actually, I have three. I never use one of them, because it's a fancy buck knife I inherited from my father.

I have a survival knife with a jagged edge on top.

That is only one knife. Thanks.

But the jagged edge can be used to cut as well.

So, it's a single double-edged knife. Thanks.

@previous (jodie !foster2PAQ)

I forget the exact brand. I think it's Queensboro? He bought it back in 70s. I have it in storage right meow, but I'll get it out on my day off and answer your question.

God this reminds me when I was a kid the linerlock flick knives were a fad and all the boys had them. Kind of like fidget spinners, but more dangerous. Me and a couple of my ni??as were at the park comparing knives and I was examining this other kids knife and I flicked it open hard but I wasn't holding it with enough grip and it flew out of my hand and the centrifugal force shot it out point-first, missing the other ni??a by like a foot, landing ten feet away.

I was kinda shaken because I almost killed a person, completely by accident. But it was also pretty funny and we all laughed. Surprisingly even though we all had knives, I don't recall anyone ever actually getting stabbed or slashed ?

Yeah, my friends and I all had knives when we were kids. None of us got hurt, bc our parents had the sense to teach us about knife safety.

My everyday knife was also my dad's, he used it as his everyday knife. It's a Benchmade Ambush, designed by Mel Pardue. He bought it back in the early 2000s, and remains a solid knife to this day.

I recommend it. On top of being well made knives, Benchmade offers excellent customer support.

I haven't bothered to get a really nice knife yet, I just have a small fixed-blade I bring to work and wear on my belt, and a ridiculous vampire-looking spring-assisted blade.
I used to have this little one a friend made for me, it was just the blade taken from a smith&wesson knife stuck into a small sideways wooden handle. You held the handle in a clenched fist and the blade would stick out between your fingers. I really liked that.

Sounds a little dangerous tbh, but I bet it made a good self defense knife.

@previous (A)
Exactly! Made me feel safe. It's super small and discreet and I could just hold it with my hand in my pocket. And cause it's nestled inside my fist it'd be harder for someone to take it from me. I've got a little pepperspray keychain now, but I want one of those little knives. I'm not sure what keywords to use to find one online, I think I'd have to get it custom.

My everyday knife is big enough that I can use it as a spacer, or gut a mofo. I like the fact it offers a less lethal option, tho.

Spacer?
Oh i have a bigger knife I inherited, as well, but I don't use it.

It's what you call an object you hold in your fist, when you throw a punch. Like a roll of quarters.

chill dog !!81dzJNNYL replied with this 5 years ago, 4 minutes later, 8 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,142,469

@previous (A)
Oh, i see. Yeah. I just liked how it poked out from between my fingers, oriented like brass knuckles, instead of poking out the side of my fist.

that seems dangerous

@1,142,469 (chill dog !!81dzJNNYL)

Yeah, i'm sure that was super convenient. Luckily, the handle on mine is oriented so that I can also hold it underhand, so I can still throw punches and slice at the same time.

Made me feel very safe. Oh, they're called push daggers! Mine had the blade oriented differently but this seems better.
I think I want this one. It folds into a regular knife! https://cobratecknives.com/products/folder-push-dagger-white

that is cool tho

Oh yeah that's understandable
I think i might buy that knife. I've spent way too much money lately tho so that's gotta be the absolute end
My boyfriend makes decent money and is somewhat impulsive about buying things which rubs off on me
Ugh

Sad day. IDK why they can't ship to Canada, especially if it's based in the continental US.
