Nah that guy was just a prick. I've worked for other Jewish people who were just fine. Amusingly, his last name was Pecker. I also have a neighbor known as Pecker who's a complete prick.

Judaism is matrilineal, last names are usually patrilineal, so it's entirely possible to be Jewish with a non-Jewish last name without changing your name.

I'm not sure what some of those words mean but put it like this, if someone is Jewish and their last name is 'Smith' you got to wonder why they are hiding, and it's probably payment commitments.

You get your Judaism from your mother. You get your last name from your father. If a Jewish woman has kids with a non-Jewish man, you get Jewish kids with non-Jewish last names.
