We pretty much shut it down coming in from China. It's going to be fine.

We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China.

I think we're doing a really good job in this country at keeping it down... a tremendous job at keeping it down.

Everyone has caught the flu already and it's been around forever. It all depends on how it mutates and also how long antibodies give you immunity for.

It is actually quite sad that more people will die because the current US President is an idiot.
The bold strategy of trying to ignore the virus didn't work out for his Brazilian counterpart, also.

If everyone stayed home for 4 weeks followed by testing followed by more staying home for those who were sick and their families followed by more testing followed by more testing a country could rid itself of the virus in 2-3 months.

If Trump took decisive, Chinese-style action (ie literally welding people's doors shut) people would be screaming about what a fascist he is. If he takes a hands-off, liberal style approach, he's a doofus who murdered grandma. He can't win.

The first action he took was to try and pray it away. Also, fire his pandemic response team. There are definitely better courses of action he could have taken.

There is a middle ground between welding people into their apartment buildings, and saying "it will all go away like magic". Perhaps the people who are critical of him are suggesting he should have done more than pray for a miracle that was never going to arrive, but less than declare martial law across the U.S.

What bothers me is that right now, there are zero cases in my country outside of quarantine. The last death was a few months ago. Why can't other countries do what my government did? It's not like it's a secret.

N-no, conservative and liberal depict using either small(conservative) amounts of government, compared to using a large(liberal( amount of government. Do people really not understand this?

It's not just sad, it's fucking criminal. Trump should be sued by family members of people killed by the Trump virus after the election.

How so? Liberals generally support government assistance, taxes, regulations, and laws that directly effect the citizens. That's "big" government

When you liberally apply something, you use a lot of it. When you conservatively apply something, you use a small amount.

Once you take into account the narrow view of the Chinese government and their opinions on who is actually a person in their eyes, they're quite liberal. Do you guys not pay attention to China? I'll admit their implementation is surely a bastardization of liberalism, but from the standpoint of the Chinese, it's a very accurate description of their actions. The party is all that matters, so any "human rights" that belong to anyone outside the party aren't valid.

I decided to try actually looking up a dictionary definition, just out of interest. Sorry, Wade, dreamworks is right about this one.
liberal adjective (SOCIETY)
respecting and allowing many different types of beliefs or behaviour:
liberal adjective (POLITICS)
believing in or allowing a lot of personal freedom, and believing that society should change gradually so that money, property, and power are shared more fairly:
