I feel like certain elements have, recently, given pizza a bad name. As a pizza fan, this saddens me. It should be appreciated as the comfy treat that it is. Let's appreciate pizza ITT. Thanks!

I think it's been unjustly sullied by Pizzagate ?

When I'm down a 'Spoons, nothing other than a pepperoni pizza with mushrooms shall do. A 'Spoons pizza and some cheeky beers is, for me, simply the pinnacle of a night out.
One small complaint, though, you have to cut it up yourself with a serrated knife. Apparently people kept nicking their pizza cutters. They could still take a few moments to cut it themselves in the kitchen, though...

That's so strange. In America they always come pre-sliced.

In Naples I had pizza fritta - deep-fried pizza. It wasn't at all the disgusting greasy mess that the name conjures up. It was delicious.
I also had Roman pizza, with white beans on it. That was interesting. Not my favourite but I see the appeal.

Upon googling, it seems the bean pizza is a specialty of this one pizzeria in Rome. I'm glad I chanced upon it.

I don't think it's necessarily a UK thing. My local takeaway delivers it pre-sliced.
Pizza Express, though (big chain restaurant here), also makes you slice it yourself. But at least they give you a pizza cutter.

I imagine they have pissed off a lot of Americans ??
Cutting your own pizza is limited to frozen pizzas in America. The idea the customer would have to cut their own pizza is just... barbaric.
chill dog !!81dzJNNYL replied with this 5 years ago, 22 minutes later, 1 hour after the original post[^][v]#1,140,408
You have to hold it still with your hand to cut it properly and ensure it retains authenticity, that combined with the fact it's an awful ballache to clean it afterwards makes it an unattractive solution when they can just give you a knife.

If you eat the entire thing in one bite, you will not need to cut it at all.

You absolute spastic nutter, coming into my topic and TROLLING me like this! By way of apology, you should talk about your favourite pizza.
@1,140,551 (blom)
Okay, I will take your word for that. I don't actually mind cutting it myself that much, it would just be nice to have a pizza cutter.

You can always bring your own! Authenticity is very important to a Wetherspoons Kitchen Associate.

I really like pizza! Although I am no connoisseur, my personal favorite pizza place is Pagliacci's. I would go there with my dad every Monday night before my weekly Boy Scouts meeting.

Sorry, but tacos just aren't that great, especially compared to the glory of pizza. Breakfast burritos, on the other hand, may stand a chance...

A man, down on his luck, visits a therapist. He has been sullied by Bertposts and Pizzagate and whatever around him brings pizza down. The therapist recommends Pagliacci's - their deepdish is quite delectable, they say. The man tells the doctor, "I am pagliacchi........"

I like anchovies occasionally, and sometimes pineapple.
My favorite normal toppings are mushrooms, onion, and sausage.
I also sometimes like green olives or banana peppers

I have done that a few times in the past, yes! Loved having two slices of pizza for breakfast. But tonight it's a snack.
Please excuse the yellowness of this picture. Artificial lighting, innit.

You're absolutely right about the pineapple. I like a ham and pineapple myself, sometimes. No idea why pineapple on pizzas is "controversial".

Pineapple goes well on several kinds of pizza. Particularly with jalapeno, it adds a nice contrast to the heat.

That is an authentic Neopolitan, Italian pizza. In Italy, the focus is the delicious bread, not a bunch of goopy toppings like in the US.
