I got tired of barely hearing movies and music, so I downloaded one. So much better now.

Why are you watching videos while walking? You definitely can listen to music, and be aware of your surroundings.

You actually can if you get bone conduction headphones. They don't block your ears at all.

those dont bone conduct though

They work super well though. You can hear everything that's going on around you, the music is super clear, and nobody can hear the music but you.
Do they not bone conduct? They contact your skull above your ears.

afaik they have just regular speakers in them? bone conduction ones like meta posted just have a vibraty bit, they dont move air like a regular speaker

jodie !foster2PAQ replied with this 5 years ago, 6 minutes later, 15 hours after the original post[^] [v] #1,139,684

@previous (dw)
yeah they look kinda cool but they are just miniaturized directional speakers
prolly sounds better

yes i have been following these bone conduction things for a bit because i had the same idea when i was 12 and apparently they dont sound particularly good for how much they cost

same they had a bone conduction thing at this science museum I went to as a kid where you'd put this thing on your teeth and Gold Digger would play and I thought 'i want this as headphones'
but I'd pay like 80 bucks if it meant not listening to my phone speaker or some other lil shit Bluetooth speaker while I'm. out

I read a review that said they aren't very good for use in places with a lot of noise.
