I know my diet is terrible. That's something I can change immediately. Im also gonna do my best to start exercising.
I'm gonna start a couch to 5k. To achieve this, I plan to wake up an hour early every day. That way, I have time to run and eat. The days I dont exercise, I'll still get up to keep a consistent schedule.
I do have a problem in eating better in that I'm not a good cook. Even following YouTube videos, shit never quite works out good.
Anyone able to recommend some easy foods that are high in protein and easy? Minimal clean up would be great. I think a lot of times it's just that I can't modify recipes for one.
I don't feel motivated, but fed up. I saw the perfect chick today, and it made me angry because no woman would desire me like I desired her. I'll never get to that point, but I've got a perry face. I just need to not be fat.
I was successful a few years ago and I started to have things go well, then I fell into a terrible spiral of depression. Ive not been able to pull out, but I honestly havent tried. I decide to, but run out of steam. Or I make unrealistic plans that are doomed for failure.
I just need help, but lack support. Support me MC. Be the bossom I can nuzzle.
You might consider sorting out your cooking/eating routine for a week or two before you start exercising. Stress and shit is not a good motivator. Planning is everything. Each time you cook try to make something for at least two meals, boiled eggs and shit are easy mode.

Recently and twice I found myself with 12 ugly pounds all in my belly. Two years in a row as result of Christmas holidays and trying to extend all of that for a few months.
Years ago I got my weight down as a direct result of working on reducing my Cholesterol problem which is Genetic. Males in family do what Itamake does - pops pills - Not my style.
So I hit the library at UCLA and read read read books and journals like American Journal of Clinical Nutrition - Bottom line is Research. So you can come up with a change in what you eat after you look at the trade offs. The word DIET has no place in solving your problem. Life style change is learning how to read labels and Exercise of course.
Now some real good news. Cutting out Fat worked for me - others do that High Protean Ketosis diet and it works but I decided it was just that a diet which cannot have any place in my life style. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic_diet
So some hints. French in the South of France where they do not use butter or Greeks or anyone living in the Mediterranean areas are the most healthy of all and are not as a general rule overweight.
I stopped trying to get 100% of the pounds OFF Because I enjoy the increased daily exercise. Cheep thrills re Endorphins on a daily basis. Takes a while for this to kick in. There are tymes I feel so damn HIGH as a result of the Endorphins.
So you need to read read read but do NOT put off the start of Exercise. No matter if you walk run swim climb stairs clean your room until spotless its all a matter of Calories in vs Calories burned.
Could rite a book but U need to read a good book on the subject so you can read the labels and understand tradeoffs. Start the Exercise thing out S L O W L Y and add more minutes daily.
Pretend you have High Cholesterol or Diabetes and follow advice because if you do not make changes NOW you will end up with the problems anyway. The 8 Week Cholesterol Cure book sold Zillions and you can pick up a old copy for under a buck. Forget the recipes - Good for a guide ONLY in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure you know what healthy for you and what's not healthy for you.
1. Lessen down on the frozen foods.
2. Stop fast food restaurants/choose healthier meals
3. Eat to live, don't live to eat. Stop eating when you're full. Even when you still got food left on your plate.
4. Fuck canned goods. Fresh meals are superior by all means.
5. Join a cooking class. People get better at cooking with time. You learn as you go. Cooking involves a lot of experimentation. Look up how to cook meals online. There's thousands of informative recipe sites overflowing with precise directions.

Advice re a cooking school is Good advice. Years ago I took a series of night classes for Chinese and basic Asian and met some very cute and AVAILABLE Gals.
Also the fact that Chinese and Japanese use a very small amount of Meat to larger amounts of veggies and even use Steam to cook a lot of dishes is one reason Chinese and Japanese are THE most Healthy people on Planet Earth overall.

YOU CAN DO THIS. FUCK BEING FAT. FUCK THAT. EAT HEALTHY, BE HEALTHY. WORK OUT. IT'S A BENEFICIAL SCAPEGOAT. EXERCISE OFF THE PAIN AND MISERY. GET FIT, HAVE BITCHES WISHING YOU WOULD APPROACH THEM. LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD. WEAR THE CLOTHES YOU WANT TO WEAR. YOUR BODY IS ALL YOU HAVE. IT'S WHAT YOU SHOW THE WORLD. IT'S A PROJECTION OF HOW YOU TREAT YOURSELF.

Running/Walking is a good way to fight depression. One also meets some very nice people along the way. I am not into the Marathon thing but do attend the events and without signing up I do the course. Being among 1000's of happy smiling exercising people - well its a party where everyone is there to support a friend or take part.
I fight getting down to the exact goal by adding STUFF that is still healthy but I should use less of it. I use more Olive oil then I did months ago as a good way to keep calories up because if I kept going down down down I wood be in an unhealthy position.

I've looked into a protein sparing fast, but I'd rather just eat how I should. I understand nutrition. I read a ton a few years back, and I learned a lot. I did really well, but fell back into old habits.
@180,057 (Ks !KansasxqvM)
Yea, I get intimidated and just dont try. I used to use a george Forman grill and cooking chicken was so easy. I should probably just get another. I was also thinking of trying cooking in foil, whatever that's called (or parchment). I'm paranoid and think chicken isn't done when I cook it if it isn't dry. I've been on that site before, but was overwhelmed with the recipes.
I like to just cook a chicken breast and steam green beans and call it a meal.
I've got some Mac and cheese and canned soups I'm gonna eat this week. I'm gonna start exercising first and eating less. I'm gonna stop eating my breakfast and lunch from 7/11 and whatever shitty places are open when I get off work too.

I took it one step at a time and still have a ways to go. I wrote everything I did in the day until I got comfortable with the routine I was in. I don't try to lose pounds for vanity reasons, I am happy with how I look, and I could give two shits less how others feel about it; However I chose to lose weight because I am in tremendous pain due to my back, You wouldn't realize how much 10 pounds made on the pain.
You don't have to run 5k, take it slow, buy a bike. You will lose weight at the same rate, yet you won't tear up your joints doing it. Go at a pace where you could keep up with a quick jog. Start out at 10 minutes of hard riding, 10 minutes soft riding, and 5 minutes walking, then reverse. So it would look like 10-hard, 10-soft, 5-walk, 10-soft, 10-hard, It will lose weight, but also build stamina.

Common mistake, but since you've been through that it should be easy to avoid.
Have you ever thought about weight watchers for men? I think there meals run around $50 a week for 3 squares a day, maybe not the best tasting, but hell that's not a bad price. If its comparable to your food budget now, you might really consider it, pre-made meals would take a lot of the guesswork/stress out of the whole thing.

I've wanted to take a cooking class, but I wouldn't be able to go. Not alone. My housemate used to be a chef, and she taught me how to make pork chops. It was really easy, but I never made an attempt after cause I stop caring about shit.

No more fast foods except for the occasional once or twice a month. Drink water. Carry around a gallon jug. Sounds crazy but you will want to lighten that fucker so you will drink it. And drink the fucker. It will make you feel full. Remember this: You will only exercise so long every day, the other 23 or however many hours are all about self discipline and control when it comes to eating.

Fish and chicken are the easiest man, if its white, its alright, for fish if it flakes its fine. The juicer the better, overcooked meats maek me sads. Trust the meat man, don't even worry about under-cooking it, but once its over-cooked it can't be fixed.
Cooking can be such a bitch man, just do some utility cooking so you don't get overwhelmed (simple shit to eat).

I just bought a new purse messenger bag so I start taking my water bottle to work. Drinking water isn't a problem for me. I drink plenty when I'm home, I just need to start bringing it work again instead of monster energy drinks.
Caffeine pills or black coffee can substitute.

I'm really paranoid about undercooking. Its why i stopped cooking chicken when the GF grill went missing. I think it tastes funny and can't finish it. I've got a lot of weird neurosis or delusions, I guess that's delusional behavior.
Its gonna be tough when I'm home and actually need to do stuff, but i really need to get it right. Im getting to a point that's just insane. I can't go out with my friend's where other people will be anymore. I make myself sick worrying about it.

I'm not sure what your financial situation is, but if you're going with beef try the grass-fed version. You can get it at Whole Foods or a similar store, or a local meat seller. Grass-fed is supposed to be far healthier than the grain-fed alternative.

Wayyyyyyyy 2 much to reply2. Mac & Cheese is one dish you need to keep for a celebration or rare occasion. NOT Healthy and if you looked at the amount of Exercise just to burn off what you just ate - You wood not eat it very often.
Over cooking Chicken? You will not be happy eating it just like dry Salmon. Yuck - You can pull both out on the early side and quick finish off in the Microwave. I do not use this but others do. Those stick it in FAST Thermometers that you remove just as fast.
I am paranoid about over cooking so I tend to pull out or off grill and if necessary Micro 20-35 seconds or so. Chinese have lots of 0 fat add on sauces and you can buy small jars but usually I make my own on the fly. Steam Salmon only takes some lemon of a nice Vinegar.
For the years and years of World Wide Travel one thing I noticed. Those who do not have cars tend to have to walk daily which means they are not obese. For instance in Russia the Russian Mafia all drive SUV's and are Obese and maybe because they are also eating High on the Hog. Ordinary Russians buy beef so lean because to fatten beef makes it expensive. Hell they do not even pay attention to the cuts. Just buy a pound from any part of cow and make soup or stew with slow cooking. Lean and mean Russians who walk daily.
That holds from South America to Russia and China to Chile.
One great dish with Beans is Red Rice and Beans made without that mass of Pork Fat they use. Lean sausage works and of course lean pork chops - ALWAYS CUT off all the Fat you can from meat EXCEPT leave the skin on chicken when you cook it and then discard the skin.
No chicken skin until you drop pounds and pounds. Oven friend chicken without the skin - lots of web ways to do that. I get crunch using course corn mean and things like corn flakes - Tricky getting the coating to stick but worth trying all the ways to make that work. Often I am shocked at how good that turns out.
Again eye could rite a book - LOVE to eat and cook - Used to build bombs and rockets to use my Chemistry skills and now do it in the Kitchen. I own some Island property on the beach but can NEVER live there because the culture will not allow me to cook my own food.

Careful as often the amount of Fat in Ground turkey is wayyyyyyy too much and not as lean as say 90% Ground beef. One can get lean Turkey ground but its often a lot of work to cook it so its not dry dry dry.

DM? Its BS about his cooking skills. For instance just look at his youtube video about cooking up a chicken curry.
Sloppy sloppy gruelll . In no way is that Indian cooking. He says he was a pro chief? Maybe if Taco Bell counts lol
I do not pretend to have pro skills but I sure do make a mean set of great dishes. Chinese cooking was maybe the best set of classes for that and of course the fact they are loaded with Gals does NOT hurt one bit

IF is the operative word. Just stay on course and allow some mistrakes on occasion. In the beginning and for maybe one year or more I kept a note book of total fat & calorie intake and noted exercise. I am back to keeping a log of daily exercise in terms of total tyme etc. No longer detailing food.
Work night is DONE DONE. I hired a small staff to make my summer more better. Less over all money but more over all fun tyme!!
So maybe u just might do one topic of how you are doing or not and bump it up so we here can keep you on track. The deal with getting my Cholesterol number to where they needed to be helped me because it gave me positive feedback. One can see changes in just 10 days or less. As Cholesterol came down so did my weight YEARS ago. That was back years ago when I kept buying pants because well you damn well know Y. I still keep a few pairs just for party tricks. Its kinda cool to try the size 39's on when I am now back to 34 with added holes to get the belts tighter which means NEW Pants buy tyme
Good night as its tyme to pour useless calories Makers Mark which I will be happy to Surf or Swim or Run off 2morrow - Depending on my work load and who I am working for, I have to hold off Alcohol until work is all done. 2nite working on Satellites meant Nada Alcohol till NOW NOW lol

Thanks! I'm planning on focusing on fitness as the results are more immediate than weight loss. My goals are all fitness based. I want to be able to run 15 minutes sustained by the end of the month and be able to do 10 push-ups (I'm 260, one push-up is hard as fuck), and 50 body weight squats (this may be too easy, but I'll set a better goal for end of september based on how I'm doing).
