The Senate will take a planned recess starting this Friday, July 3, through July 17 and then go on its August recess from Aug. 10, to Sept. 7, which is Labor Day.
According to Sen. Roy Blunt, members of the Senate will use the remainder of this week and the July break to collect the information they need for a second coronavirus package and then return the last two weeks of July ready to work. "I think the timing is going to be just about right for us to know what we need to know for a package that moves us into August, September and October," Blunt said on Tuesday.
If the Senate does take up a second stimulus package in July, the bill would presumably need to pass before Friday, Aug. 7 for checks to go out in August. McConnell on Tuesday was clear the Senate would not work through its August recess.

Should've thought of these things before voting Republican tbh.

The pandemic has placed me in a position to where if I go to work, like I want to...there is a big chance I will be infected and bring the virus home to someone with a big chance of not surviving it.

Work from home.

Most work at home jobs are done by fags though, thus such opportunities are not the right fit for me.

Okay, could someone other than OP chime in on if they think a second stimulus check is necessary? I'm genuinely curious, since you guys have been hit hard by the virus.

I don't think it will do any good, but rather just lead to inflation. Printing money doesn't create wealth. What we need is not more money but more wealth creation. What would work a lot better is to just end all lockdown/quarantines and let the virus run its course. This will end the pain in the quickest manner possible and then we can all go back to work.
Of course Bert was unemployed before COVID, and he will be unemployed after COVID so it doesn't really matter either way for him.

Yes it is necessary. People are running low on/running out of cash and bills are piling up. Need 4k per person now and then like 3k per household after tbh.

That is true. $1200 is a tiny amount in this situation. Thats like a jar of quarters.

It would be nice, honestly. I got lucky and got a job right before lockdowns started in my state, and am picking up extra hours this next week, but I'd probably buy a vehicle with another stimulus, I paid rent with the first one. We also really need a washer and drier set for the house, so in all reality I'd probably buy a bus pass and then pitch on those if we hadn't managed to get a set by then.
My old roommate got covid and he's quarantining in a hotel room. I tested negative. I guess I am casually at risk because I'm a tobacco smoker and have pre-existing lung difficulties, but I had mostly only worn a mask at work and then only when customers were around, it gets difficult to breathe in after a short time.
I've still had to pay all my bills and rent and deposit for the new place, luckily I make enough only working three days a week to get by with the necessities, but I'm also letting my mental and physical health deteriorate this year.
