No, that is just standard bullshit to respond to people who show concern about aspects of Israeli policies and practices.

I see people whinging about criticism of Israel being dismissed as anti-semitic more than, you know, actual criticism of Israel being dismissed as anti-semitic.

I've seen it on the odd occasion, but never anything on the scale people seem to claim.
Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, idk.

I first was aware of it when I heard some idiot claim antisemitism is rampant among "the left" and I that's something I have not seen at all, given that our instinct is that jew hating is not a "the left" thing given what the fuck these bullshit labels are supposed to even mean. Considering the source is political people who keep talking about "the left" all the time, I had to conclude that it was just more political commentator bullshit to support people who actually have the power, and shit on those who have no power, yet again. I remember now, it was New York Times idiot Heidi Weiss.

oh I remember an earlier reference -- I think a fucking ambassador from Israel was talking like that, so naturally it was coloared with the attitude of the current ruling party at that time, self-serving deflection from criticism.

Manifestations might include the targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity. However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic.

What if you don't have any objections to the Zionist project itself (ie the Jewish people making an ethnostate for themselves in the Levant) but you see Israel as basically Jewish Rhodesia, and you do not want your country to be involved or support it in any way?

Succesful farming state but did the usual British Empire thing where the natives were oppressed by racial theory, then when it declared independence incompetents took charge and ran it into the ground.

@1,138,399 (Meta !Sober//iZs)
So your problem is that you see Israel as being run by incompetents who will run it into the ground?
I mean regardless, taking issue with a country's government =/= being racist against the citizens of that country.

No. What I mean is, I don't care about Jewish-Muslim relations. I'm not Middle Eastern, I don't live in the Middle East, I don't subscribe to any of the Middle East religions. If one group of Middle Easterners wants to fight another group of Middle Easterners because their mythology says God gave them this piece of land, I don't care.
That being said, I don't want my government to take any part in the Middle East. I don't want it to support Israel (or any other country) financially, militarily, or diplomatically. Or Palestine. I don't want it taking Israel's side in the quarrel. I don't want it taking any side. I want Middle Easterners to be free to do their thing in the Middle East and I want my country to stay out of it.
Also the Rhodesian government of Ian Smith wasn't incompetent, but was forced to fold after decades of international sanctions. The country was never even officially recognized. Zimbabwe (under Mugabe) ran the prosperous, developed, country the Rhodesians built into the ground.

By having alliances, we are heavily funding war crimes/crimes against humanity. It's supremely fucked up

I imagine Iran would be different now if this interference wasn't done:
wiki
The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup d'état (Persian: کودتای ۲۸ مرداد), was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in favour of strengthening the monarchical rule of the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project or "Operation Ajax") and the United Kingdom (under the name "Operation Boot"), and carried out by the Iranian military. It was the first covert action by the United States to overthrow a democratically-elected government during peacetime.
