Learn your fucking history! You’re displaying flags of a nation and a defunct nation who were bitter rivals during one of the bloodiest wars in the history of the United States of America. You need to pick a side because calling yourself an American patriot while in support of traitors who tried to leave only makes you look like a dumbass hillbilly who doesn’t know shit about the history of their own nation. Fuck off, fags.

I'm not a Confederate LARPer but I think a case could be made that the Confederates (the OG 1860s ones) considered themselves 100% American.

If they had their way they would have been Latin American.

Externally hosted imageThe part I find irritating about the Confederate flag thing is the "Confederate flag" is not actually the flag of the CSA, but the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia.

The South is rapidly becoming Latin American so I guess they got their way in the end!

I wonder how that alternate history would have worked out. The Confederacy being an empire that stretched into Central America.

This makes me wonder how the locals would be treated. My guess would be like second-class citizens only a little bit above a slave. That is to say if they didn’t abolish slavery which they would’ve had to do anyway if they expected to participate in international trade where most of Europe was slowly dismantling the slave system.

I haven't seen the democrats this upset since a republican freed the slaves.

Hey, retard, the Republicans back in Lincoln’s day were essentially the equivalent to modern day Democrats. There was something called the Great Realignment.

I'm sorry but the US civil war was about the future of industrial production. It was fought for economic reasons. The cause of emancipation was righteous, but if you think the war was between goodies and baddies, you're a fucking baby. And a simp for wage slavery and capitalism.

Whoa, look at the big-brain intellectual over here. Better not try to debate him or he'll call you a capitalist simp.

Imperialist mindset. Go to war to save others, we are noble idealists just doing good things for the oppressed! What kind of moron thinks this is what the war was? The north as good white saviors fighting for the right side of history ?

I mean, the initial goal of the war from the North's point of view was to put down an unlawful insurrection. The South thought it was fighting for the right to own slaves and that its secession was legitimate. Eventually the North came to the (correct) conclusion that the only way to end the war definitively was to utterly crush the CSA and dismantle the institution of slavery.
