Topic: bus featured in movie Into the Wild that a guy starved to death in has been removed from the wild ar

area that it was in. The bus became a magnet for people to visit, and some lady even died in the process. Others had to be rescued out of the area. The bus was helicoptered out. I then thought, how the fuck did the bus get there in the first place. It turns out that some company got it there as a place for workers to stay while they worked on making an access road, and they just left it there in 1961. Must be a shitty access road. Also this is yet another example of a company that doesn't clean up after itself, and taxpayers get to pay instead, but since that money is tight, you have to wait for someone to get killed first before enough shame kicks in.

yes if you read the book it tells you this. ok book, misguided guy, unremarkable story. don't see it as inspiring, don't get the people who are similarly unprepared and try to recreate his trek
good

better yet, recreate a bunch of busses and turn it into a safe, easily accessible KOA style camp site

Pave the wilderness trail and put in a bunch of converted Greyhound buses with plumbing, king size beds, and central heating. With an on-site restaurant. The store sells t-shirts with McCandless' diary quotes like "Day 107 BEAUTIFUL BLUE BERRIES." and "I HAVE HAD A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL!"

Honestly dislike this movie, haven't read the book, but it just shows ignorance kills, and faulty labeling is also a killer

If he had had guns, ballistic armor, and tactical survival gear, could he have lived?

Probably, though I imagine the fentanyl would have reduced his chances of fighting it out ?

Oh, that. But with guns he could have hunted food, and with a tactical fire starter, he would have made fire.
