Back on the subject of obscure UKEnglish music, the vocalist of this band reached out to me to get me to listen to their music. She thought I might like it, because she saw I was "friends" with Tempa T on MySpace. It is by no means grime, and way deeper into the territory of synth pop, but you may like it.

Mostly when I'm working. I ask people to repeat themselves or ask others for clarification as needed so I don't mess things up but it makes me feel awful that I have to. I'm lucky that people are kind. Many of them struggle with English and nobody's given me shit for struggling and trying to learn. Even so, I've come home so stressed I'm nearly in tears. I don't think I could handle it if people were dicks about it.

It's surprising to me that it brings you to tears. You aren't disrespecting them by asking them to repeat themselves
I have a coworker who has a thick Southern accent plus a speech impediment. People ask her to repeat herself constantly and it doesn't bother her. I am the best at understanding her and still only get like 75% accuracy

It makes me feel like I lack the skills to succeed. Struggling in an entirely French environment is still very stressful for me at times.

Why is it an entirely French environment?

Québec is french. Everyone who works in my field is francophone (the number of people who speak english, and to what degree, varies greatly). The language of work and conversation in the field is french. Depending who I'm with I can resort to English but I try very hard not to.

I am also just a very anxious/stressed/high-strung person most of the time.

Yes. Many are just in French, no English.
