You aren't even sure what you're obsessing over. Sad.

Some dogs just hate having their nails trimmed dude. My friend has to take his dog to the vet to do it, where they have four(!) people restrain it.

I used dog nail clippers, dumbass.

Nah, my cat is good about having his nails clipped. My dog freaks right the fuck out.

Yes, I'm aware. You can see the quick in the nail, where the nerves and blood flow are. I don't clip the quick. I'm disappointed you think I'm so incompetent at such a simple task as clipping the nails of my beasts.

Maybe a good idea would be taking doggone to the vet and discussing the trimming. The vet might be able to offer guidance to make it less traumatic for you and your special animal friend.

Did you read what she wrote? She mentions the quick (hyponychium). Some dogs just REALLY hate having their nails cut. It's not uncommon.

Vets aren't really doing non-essential visits right now. Normally her nails are kept at a reasonable length just by walking, since the asphalt/cement files them down. But she was wearing a glove on that paw for over a month after ripping a nail out. It would have taken forever to file them down by walking.

And I've talked to my friend who takes his dog to the vet for nail clipping. It's still super traumatic for the dog. They still have to restrain the dog with four damn people every time.

I dont think you're incompetent but everything is not black or white when it comes to your understanding of the opinion of where to cut maybe. The vet may know a thing or two outside of a general bit of knowledge you think is all there is to know about the process.

Yup. I'm glad my cat is at least good about it, cause those claws get sharp. He barely even tries to pull his paws back.

My cats is slightly timid about me handling her front paws. Her back paws are off limits though.

Yeah I'm lucky. My cat and both my boyfriend's cats are really good about that stuff. They're super gentle and don't scratch or bite. We cleaned all their ears the other day. My cat's the only one who really needs to get his nails cut regularly, they grow super long and he gets stuck in things.
When he was young i gave him a bath once just to see if he'd let me.

Wait...it looks obvious the spinning thing will strip the flesh off my fingertips. I think I'll use some clippers.
