That isn't very modern of you. Why, you don't seem very feminist at all! That's a two-week suspended Social Media licence for you, my friend.

I think that's an oversimplification. She was just saying, that there should be distinction between cis women and transwomen. The context was her critcising some tweet or document referring to "people who menstruate", or something. She later followed that up with a tweet saying that biological sex is real.
Later on she followed up with pic related, so I don't think that her sentiments were meant to be transphobic, or that she thinks transgenderism isn't real.
Personally, I can see both sides on the "people who menstruate" thing. Perhaps it is going a bit far to say "people who menstruate". That said, I also appreciate, in some contexts, it could just be a harmless way to make trans people feel more welcome.
I don't think it shouldn't be controversial to say that biological sex is real, though. Because it is. I just think that transphobic jerks shouldn't use it to give trans people a hard time.

"People who menstruate" just sounds weird. Makes it sound like it's a hobby or a lifestyle choice or something ?

She never outright said trans people aren’t real. She posted an essay expressing her beliefs in general. She does sort of hit all of the TERF talking points, but she’s also kind of a transmedicalist too. She discussed her relationship with a trans women and said that it was hard for her to think of her friend as anything but a woman due to her struggle to cope with this and everything she had to go through to get where she was.
Her complaints about how the steps that one needed in order to transition are disappearing allowing for men to make the claim they are trans so they could get some sort of documentation which granted them access to the women’s restroom. She’s kind of making two points. A point that gets her called a TERF and a sort of transmedicalist/truscum point.

Yeah. I know it's a well-meaning attempt to be inclusive to transmen, but it does come across as strange.

First of all, shouldn't it be womenstruation? And also it's weirdly reductive and unhelpful. Women who have hit menopause don't menstruate. Do they stop being women at that point? What about women with irregular periods, or who are infertile, or whatever? Idk I'm just a man who has not had many menstruations but I feel like you could do better than that.

Better yet, maybe we should all stop putting people on pedestals. Then maybe people won't have to flip a shit, when said people say something that differs from their own views.
What do I know tho, I'm just some Minichan autist.

I think the most important thing is that men have found a new and hip way to tell women to shut up.

I think the problem is, for most of human history biological sex and gender have been a pretty much 1:1 match (not to mention the medical technology for sex reassignment surgery/HRT wasn't really viable before the mid 20th century). It was just not an issue until quite recently so maybe in 20 years we'll have the terminology sorted.
@1,133,033 (Fake anon !ZkUt8arUCU)
I think menopausal women get to keep their menstruation status. They become Menstruator Emeritus and get to keep the title for life. Women with irregular periods have demonstrated they can menstruate at least once so the same goes for them. I'm not sure about the women who can't menstruate but then any menstruation-related issues would be irrelevant for them anyway ? Maybe individuals with all the organs necessary (ovaries, uterus, cervix, etc) are considered honorary menstruators?

Oh yeah, also what about women who have hysterectomies? There's a thing I think thyere trying to get at whereby sex is determined by your reproductive organs. Which is I think generally true but also sometimes not. There are not two immutable sex categories within which 100% of all human beings fit neatly, but i mean clearly there are male human beings and female human beings in the same way there are male dogs and female dogs. All species that reproduce sexually necessarily have...sexes.

Clocked as in beaten or clocked as in, for lack of a better word, detected? Some trans women are extremely easy to 'detect'. Some aren't.

A person who outs someone for being trans.
