Now I'm imagining a world where the Coronavirus lockdown restrictions never end, and the only way to return to normal is a legal fiction where the only way stuff can return to normal is it has to be nominally about Justice for George Floyd. Kind of like how you can't resign from Parliament in the UK, so you have to get yourself appointed to the position of Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds or Steward of the Manor of Northstead, these fictional positions that theoretically disqualify you. I mean it would be easy now for the UK to change its laws and say you can resign from Parliament, but the whole thing is so ingrained now it will never change.
