Topic: Gen Z wondering about past eras

You ever wonder if in Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan there were 18-24 year olds who just thought the entire thing was retarded? I just feel like if I was 18 in imperial Japan, at least when not in public I’d be like, "Oh what? The emperor is a marine biologist with glasses born to a 16 year old teen mom and he has a fear of public speaking and gets out a big scroll like a nerd every time he’s making a public announcement but I’m supposed to die for this jackass because his inbred genetics made him so retarded he thought bombing Pearl Harbor was a good idea?"

You know how they say most Japanese people hadn’t heard the emperor’s voice until he surrendered.

They had radio like the whole time. How are you gonna die for a dude who’s that insecure about his own voice?

Idk, I just think it would be more relatable to hear about the less honorable people. Just not the less honorable Americans because they were supposed to be fighting the Nazis and that makes them look bad. Although they did exist, there were Americans who weren’t really for the whole World War Two thing. Henry Ford was one of them. It wasn’t for good reasons.

Then Hitler, not to be homophobic, but you could make a lot of homophobic jokes about his sidekick twink Himmler.

Ngl if I was the emperor of Japan I’d probably do something stupid like have a radio show like a podcast where I talk to all the troops every morning and I’m like, "Good morning Nippon! I hope you’re having another wonderful day dying for me against the American enemy!"

Oh god, now if I’m ever the president and I start a war I have to make that podcast now, that idea is such a good idea…

Hirohito was a chickenshit who lied about his culpability and claimed he was dominated by a military government and by Tojo. All lies. All imperial records are sealed from any public inquiry so all biographies found alternative ways to show his knowledge of military operations and atrocities.

I always thought it was weird the United States made up excuses to justify setting Japanese civilians on fire but also made up excuses to not punish Hirohito. It seems like it would make more sense to not firebomb Tokyo, not nuke Hiroshima or Nagasaki, and put Hirohito on trial.

You can just call them gooks, you don't need to write a book to beat around the bush.

Don’t get me wrong, I like and respect the Japanese monarchy a lot more than the British monarchy.
