Topic: LinkedIn and every company that uses it can suck my fucking dick

Finally finished school and looking for a big boy job, and of course in the dystopian hellscape we now live in, having a presence on LinkedIn is an essential requirement. Throughout the whole process of setting up and using my account, I was constantly bombarded with requests to "verify my identity" by uploading a picture of my ID. Because every other day you see a news story about some fuckass dipshit company being compromised and leaking their customers' info, and because LinkedIn is generally a slimy, greedy whore that perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with work culture in modern America, I declined every time.
Well imagine my FUCKING surprise when this morning, when I'm right in the middle of talking to recruiters, after having linked my LinkedIn profile on dozens of job applications, suddenly my account is "restricted" and the only way to get it back is to, you guessed it, VERIFY MY IDENTITY.
So FINE. FUCK YOU. I don't want to but I have to find a fucking job which means I have to suck off my techno overlords. HERE LINKEDIN. HERE'S MY DRIVERS LICENSE. When you're ready I'll give you my passport, social security card, birth certificate, fingerprints, and a picture of my asshole! Just say the fucking word and since I NEED your tool to get a job, you've got me by the fucking nuts!
Oh but just to rub it in and tell me I should have been a good boy and verified earlier, they say I have to wait up to 48 hours to see if my verification works. Yeah bullshit like it isn't an automated process like literally with every other horseshit company to pull this fucking stunt.
I'm so fucking angry. Why do I have to jump through all these hoops just to not starve to death?

Because people are temporarily unemployed while while corporations, employment agencies, and social media is more habitually involved in the job market. So there's this power imbalance.

LinkedIn has faced an army of fake accounts over the years. Everything from low-level Indian scammers pretending to be both employers and employees, to corporate espionage, to a Chinese state-run campaign that used fake LinkedIn accounts to spy on NATO and EU figures.
As much as it sucks (I know the struggle; I hope you manage to find something soon and escape this nonsense), LinkedIn didn't just arbitrarily decide to do this. There's been serious pressure on LinkedIn (and now Microsoft) for years to clean up the platform and prevent these campaigns. Trust Microslop to implement it in the worst and most user-frustrating way possible though.

My uncle retired with big plans. His wife died a week later and his old job wouldn’t hire him back. Same with everywhere else he looked. What to do? Become the night manager of a big shady hotel and run rooms for prostitutes, parties, sell drugs, and make other cash on the margins.

Back in the day and this was eons ago. Tables outside UCLA with companies calling over peeps like me with slide rule in shirt pocket.
Job offers including fully funded rest of my education, with multiple companies to choose from. Said no thanks to one as it required driving into the sun every day.
Took the one where I would have paid money to them because it was beyond what I expected from my hobby. Turns out it was a dream cum true.
